Running Amazon FBM Well: Metrics That Keep Your Account Healthy

Self-fulfilment gives you control — and full responsibility for the metrics Amazon judges you on.

The metrics that matter

FBM performance is measured through late shipment rate, valid tracking rate, pre-fulfilment cancel rate and order defect rate. Breaching thresholds on any of these can restrict your ability to sell, regardless of revenue.

  • Late shipment rate under 4%
  • Valid tracking rate above 95%
  • Pre-fulfilment cancel rate under 2.5%
  • Order defect rate under 1%

Set handling times you can actually hit

Aggressive handling times look good on the listing and damage you operationally. Set a handling time your warehouse hits consistently on its worst day, not its best.

Build a returns process before you need one

Returns handling is where FBM accounts most often lose their metrics. Define the workflow, the response window and who owns it, then monitor it weekly.
